Robert Wyatt has over 35 years experience in the delivery service industry. He began his career as a New York City bike messenger. Founding LightSpeed in 1984, he ran the company until a 1990 merger with Orbit. Mr. Wyatt served as President of Orbit/LightSpeed, at the time, one of the largest messenger companies in the United States. In November of 1995 Orbit/LightSpeed was one of the original founding companies of CD&L with Wyatt as the V.P. of New York City operations. In that position he merged five companies into a single operating entity. He was subsequently appointed President of the Northeast region, CD&L’s largest operating division. Mr. Wyatt left CD&L in 2000 to co-found deliverEnow.com. Veredex Logistics acquired deliverEnow.com in 2001. Mr. Wyatt served as COO of Veredex through 2001. He was a co-founder of LightSpeed in February 2002.
Charles Hunt has over 35 years’ experience in the courier industry. He began as a part time courier while attending college. Moved into dispatch at Can Carriers the 1st Bicycle Courier Service in NYC. Charles was a partner in the creation of Creative Carriers a courier service founded in 1985 dedicated to NYC’s Creative Community. From 1987-1995 Charles worked for Central Delivery Systems in Atlanta Georgia. Upon his return to the NYC Market in 1994 where he joined Olympic Courier as Operations Manager. In 1995, Olympic Courier became one of the founding members of CD&L, where Mr. Hunt served as Assistant Operations Manager/ Facility Manager and Operation Manager of NYC Courier Operations. In 2007 Mr. Hunt Joined LightSpeed Express in operations and in 2019 became a Partner in the Company.
Doug Bates got his start in the courier Industry as a bike messenger while still a student at Columbia University. Joining Sprint Messenger Service as dispatcher, he rose to General Manager of the company. He began working at Orbit/LightSpeed as a Division Manager in 1989, responsible for multiple offices processing over 2000 deliveries a day.
In 1995 when Orbit/LightSpeed became part of the CD&L IPO, Doug became the Director of Operations for CD&L’s New York City division. He oversaw the consolidation of five companies into a single entity during the ensuing 5 years. He was a co-founder of LightSpeed in February 2002.
Jeremy Weinstein has over 30 years experience in the delivery service industry. He became a partner at LightSpeed Messenger Service in 1987. In 1990, LightSpeed merged with Orbit Messenger Service to create Orbit/LightSpeed Courier Systems, where Mr. Weinstein served as CFO. In 1995 Orbit/LightSpeed became one of the founding members of Consolidated Delivery & Logistics where Mr. Weinstein served as the NYC Controller. In 1997 he was promoted to North East Region Controller. In 1999 he was promoted to V.P. Corporate controller for the entire company.
